AMANDA VARNON, MA, LPC

Hi, I’m Ms. Varnon, a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience supporting individuals and couples through life’s toughest moments. I received my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Truman State University, where I was a proud member of a national championship-winning swim team and still hold an NCAA record. I went on to earn my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Houston Baptist University, where I developed a strong foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy and a deep appreciation for psychodynamic theory. These frameworks have guided my work throughout my career, helping clients explore how past experiences shape their present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside adolescents, adults, and couples from all walks of life as they navigate challenges like mood disorders, personality disorders, relationship struggles, crisis situations, and trauma. Whether we’re tackling communication issues, healing from betrayal, processing incarceration, or addressing suicidal thoughts, I strive to create a space that’s safe, honest, and deeply supportive.

I believe therapy should be a balance of hard work and meaningful connection—with room for a little laughter, too. Building trust and rapport is central to how I work, and I want each client to know that I’m truly on their side. In addition to therapy, I bring extensive experience in psychological assessments, including evaluations for academic achievement, intelligence, personality, and forensic assessments such as Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) and Competency.

No matter where you are in your journey, I’m here to walk with you—offering tools, insight, and unwavering support as you move toward healing and growth.
